ALL MEMBERS PLEASE READ Destroying fakies simply for destruction's sake will now result in a permanent ban from the forum. Anyone caught encouraging the destruction of fakies will be hit with a two week time-out. This may seem harsh, but please remember that we are all collectors here and the items we collect should be treated with at least a mild amount of respect by all members. Even if you hate a certain type of fakie, there's a very good chance that one of our other members adores that same fakie, and destroying them and then laughing about it hurts the community as a whole. This is a sanctuary for fakie lovers, no matter what kind of fakie they love. IMPORTANT NOTE: The following situations are NOT considered senseless destruction, and no penalties will be applied... -Customizing mishaps (such as leaving a pony with sculpting work in the oven too long and ending up with a puddle of plastic) -Random accidents (such as the family dog chewing up a pony while the owner is at work) -Damage/destruction to make a custom (such as cutting ponies into pieces and gluing them together to make Frankenpony)

Just wondering, does this count anything to do with the UK Ponycon 'destroy a fakie' contest. I was at the con and to be fair it seems to be more of a 'custom' contest in a way rather than outright destruction.

Oh... whoa.. what happened? Did someone post something like that here? Nope, it's something on the Arena. But most (or all?) of the members here also have Arena accounts, so I wanted to make sure that that kind of thing stays on the Arena. Just wondering, does this count anything to do with the UK Ponycon 'destroy a fakie' contest. I was at the con and to be fair it seems to be more of a 'custom' contest in a way rather than outright destruction. Nope again. I didn't attend the con personally, but from what I remember reading about it, you're right...it was more of a custom thing. I vaguely remember contacting one of the organizers about it in the early days of the fakie forum, trying to get the remains of the destroyed fakies so that they wouldn't be thrown out, and I was told that most of the entries were taken home by their owners as souvenirs. And really, that's all we're trying to accomplish...to ensure that fakies are loved, regardless of their condition. It reminds me of the member here (I forget who it was, sorry) who's brother had a small collection of damaged/melted/custom fakies that he adored. I think that's really sweet. <3 It's all about context. We promote fakie love here, in any form. The con was about destroying fakies...but the resulting destroyed fakies were still appreciated and even displayed as trophies. I think I even remember hearing that there was fakie buying/selling going on at the con, and some members learned more about fakies and became interested in them. But when fakies treated as trash, something worthless to be destroyed and then thrown away...well, I don't think there's any room for that in this forum.

Totally agreed. Senseless destruction of fakies on a fakie forum would make NO SENSE, and while I don't think anyone here would do that, it's good to get the message out. What was the fakie destruction going on at the Arena? I don't frequent there much you see :0

What was the fakie destruction going on at the Arena? I don't frequent there much you see :0 I think I know what it was, someone on the arena does shooting and she does a 'fakie shoot' every so often (also uses Bratz) dolls so before she did it she rounded up the ones she had and posted them up to see what anyone would object to being shot. I did save a few fakies from her but yeah it did kick off a pretty big argument on the arena.

I googled destroy a fakie and it came up :0 I feel sad when any toy is needlessly destroyed, but I suppose it's nice the user was trying to re home some of them/find out some info about them. That's good at least!

I feel sad about this fakie destroying too...
I love fakies, I feel sorry enough for broken/damged/poor condition fakies as it is, without people purposely destroying them...
So yay to this post!

Eww! Why would anyone do that? That's so immature! D: If you don't like them, DON'T BUY THEM! It's as simple as that!
I personally love fakies. They're better for people like me, who don't have as much money to spend. They can be just as cute, and they have a certain charm. C:

I don't quiet understand why anyone would do such a thing. If I can't sell them, ill at the very least donate them to a charity for them to onsell. I don't own many ponies any more, but there are more fakies than the real thing, and I can assure you, most of them are in very poor condition, but thats how I like them. It shows they have been loved & played with, which is what they were intended for, and it gives them character. I also have just aquired my very own creepy totsy / sunshine horrific bbe fakie, which is just made up of pure ugliness, her hair is falling out, and she was covered in marks, but ive lovingly cleaned her up & plan to restore her missing hair with some nice new locks when I get some spare time. For the meantime, she can sit around half bald & still do her job of terrifying the neighbourhood I've seen things posted on the arena before destroying an actual mlp, which caused a huge uproar, why should it be any different to a fakie really? Alot of arena members may not directly like fakies, but im sure most would like some to a degree, whether that be a bratz or cabbage patch pony, or some random one, there has to be a fakie out there that every my little pony lover would want to have
