No I mis-communnicated terribly on that I'm sorry. I saw these sets some years back, probably three like it said. But at that time I was going to walmart every week to two weeks LOL now I get it, sorry! Because of the cut-off I didn't realize it was ONE scentence >.< Silly me. Now I understand that you saw that pony long ago and that it was two weeks before you saw the green-haired one LOL. I hope you're right about the pink haired one existing and maybe we'll see her in a sales thread or something some day

I hope so too, she is pretty.
The other thing I think might be a clue
Is if you look close on the backer card I mentioned before the Pink Haired Mommy has 1 SINGLE CURL making up her Tail, the real ponies sold at Walmart have a very thin Single Curl tail,
so I think the photo may show one real Pony (with the thin curl tail) and three unfinished prototypes.
The other Three Bright colors that probably were NOT Made look to HAVE BIG THICK Slightly FRIZZY Tails not realistic to this pony type. I WONDER IF THEY PHOTOSHOP TINTED/PAINTED THE HAIR COLORS ON THE PINK AND PURPLE HORSES? The mane and tails look very blurry. so I wonder before they finished production they simply put pink hair on all four prototypes and photoshop colored over some of them to make variety.
I was going to JOKE that the other three colors were the first ponies ever made with that mold That's Just A JOKE don't know how many years ago the ponies were ever first made, many sets have used the mold before these mommy baby ones.
(I have seen prototypes and real models mixed into the same back card photo on other toys, Matchbox Carousel Horses for instance had a display stand photo on the backcard that had prototypes [in real color schemes but Poses that were Never produced] and real models that were made both shown on a display stand promo photo. So they could have taken a photo mid-production -- having one mommy baby set finished and the other colors undecided)

I've got dozens of these fakies. I think they just pick a plastic color they have on hand and pick a hair color and go with it. There's no rhyme or reason. Also the mold is used by Gigo, Cititoy, and the walmart Kid Connection ones. Each brand has their own colors.

So far I think we've been discussing the 'Walmart Kid Connection' set I think that's what the Backer Card that brought about the question was from, because Walmart's were the only ones I've seen available and after looking at it for a while I remember seeing the red haired one (shown on the backer card) at some point and wishing there was one with her colors. fakiesrpeople2~~It would be interesting to see yours - do you have a collection photo up anywhere??~~

Also the mold is used by Gigo, Cititoy, and the walmart Kid Connection ones. Each brand has their own colors. I guess the reason behind their color combos is just the same as with real MLP, they do try to make color combos that will appeal. All I know is that the person who has the backcard wrote that the backcard is from the packaging of fakies that are completely different than the ones in the pic! So also not from the ones with the alternative hair colors (that you posted pics of). The ponies in the packaging were completely different. Like when with real MLP there would be a picture of the Rainbow Ponies set on the backcard of Brush and Grow ponies for example. Like as an advertisment I think.

I guess I always overcomplicate my communication.
I think the backcard may be from Walmart because I might remember I seen it in person and Walmart was the only store I went to that was a source of (these or any) Fakies.
But I don't know if the same backcard photo would be used for other sets as well or not.
Edit: But two of the symbols I am sure I saw AT WALMART match symbols shown on the backer card
