I had not indulged in ponies for a long time, but this morning the local supermarket add grabbed my attention. I'm not sure how on topic those ponies are, as they have molded not rooted manes and are visually miles and miles away from most MLPs, but they turned out to be cute and sassy, and as there are not many Russian toys on this forum, I though I could share!
They are made by a company called Vitamin Toys (www.vitamintoys.ru)and in my store there were single packs supposed to contain one toy (not sure how many varieties) and two kinds of tripple packs. All contain candied pineapple pieces, and all had really pretty box designs, so I grabbed the darker and edgier looking three pack. Box art was really insanely pretty!

Sides and top:
The front opens with 3 well made and sturdy sling open cardboard drawers, each contained a plastic wrapped pony, also there was a colorful bag with a tiny amount of candied pineapple (7-8 little cubes) and a really nice slip with the backstory and charachter profiles of five different ponies in English, Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian (Outside of the box technical labeling is also in those lnaguages+Russian)
English backstory: ''Unusual Lunar Horses live in luxurious magical forest where night keeps own secrets and moon paths run right along the ground... Mysteries ere revealed only for the most curious...''
The three ponies I got were Olyva (I suppose it's meant to be something between Olivia and Olive) De Loona and Dolphina (Lovely Russian Engrish )
They are solid vinyl, non hollow and seems that bodies, manes, tails and some accessories in Dolphinas case are molded separately and from different material and glued together. Also, what I found interesting is that most details seem hand painted, but eyes are not. All the ponies have the exact same blue printed plastic eyes that are glued into molded sockets.
They are not amazingly well made, quite the contrary, lots of mold lines, sloppy paint, some minor scratches and chipped paint even, and in photographs those defects tend to pop a horrible lot. For some reason when you hold them in hand in real life they somehow seem to be a lot more subtle, they are still there but not to the extent they bug me too much.
Group photo (sorry, the background is worst possible):
Olyva
She's the most generic one of all, yellow, slightly iridescent coat and magenta mane (also seems to be shaded with some glaze or something) simple and a bit sloppy flower design on the saddle place. She can not stand on her own, because feet are basically all in one line and she's top heavy. I wonder if it could be fixed by trying to bend her hind legs further apart (front legs are molded together in the upper part) Also it appears she has had some defect or smudge on her right hind leg and it's been covered with not perfectly matching yellow paint.
Her backstory involves ''tatting the threads of moonlight'' ''throwing spider webs on the ones who she wants to invite to a visit'' and ''serving iced tea''
La Loona
Horrible horrible mold lines, also the head is molded separately from the body and seam is really visible, yet she makes it up with the charachter, apparently she's able to teleport and turn water into cherry lemonade. She is also somewhat off balance even though she has a huge surface area on the bottom (all side, legs and part of the tail touch the table) I really really like the color scheme though, it's somewhat not the typical ''fairy pony candy color scheme'' while it isn't super ''gothic'' or ''villain like'' either. It's just different. In the second pic you can also see what I mean about the eyes, they are exactly the same in all ponies, I guess this company uses ready made eyes by some other company.
My favorite- Dolphina
I totally love the aesthetics of this one. She is a very Russian pony by all means, the bold black pink white color scheme, huge amount of flowers (molded flowers on both sides, like as if she was sitting in a flower bed or something, another molded one behind her right ear ( can't be seen in pic)fabulous mane and tail and the dot design, I like it all! She is just as sassy, bold and statement making as the boxes design promised. Yes, she is still cheaply made but heck, it works. She also sits well. Her backstory says she's into horror-romance books and making plays and shows.
Over all, I'm really happy that I bought these ponies, the box was under 3 euros (ok, it was on a discount by half) and the designs are really cute and sassy and definately different. I also like that there are no unicorns and pegasi in this toy line (unicorns are really getting old). I would love to obtain at least the other two toys that were shown in the booklet, but I haven't figured out if these work on some blind bag system or what, as there are more ponies (both sculpts and color variations) in the add I saw and some even appear to be flocked.
I haven't explored the webpage yet but they seem pretty awesome little toys to collect!
