Hey everyone!
So, my sister is the type of person to buy many things online. She often share those things with me, as we enjoy opening the packages she recieves quite many of. For a long time, she used Wish to shop on, but now she has changed to using Aliexpress and showed it to me. We decided to find something I could buy on there, and since I am a huge pegasister, I typed in ''My Little Pony'' on the search bar. I was quite surprised when I saw many of the new My Little Pony figures, and even old ones, on there. As I scrolled more and more down, I started to wonder which of them are real, and which are fake? Some of the figures are obviously fakies, but some others look a lot like the real deal, and they are even some I am very interested in. What I want to ask, is if any of you reading have had some experience with buying figures off of Aliexpress. Please tell me, I really want to know if I should try and buy a figure!
Thank you in advanced for even reading this, Rose.

I haven't bought from Aliexpress before, but I'm sure there are some online guides you could look up! Here are a couple I just searched for: www.makeuseof.com/tag/safe-shop-aliexpress/www.makeuseof.com/tag/buy-safely-aliexpress-scams/www.techmesto.com/aliexpress-tips-stay-safe/I do know when it comes to buying ponies, sometimes the images shown may not actually be what you end up getting in your purchase, you may end up getting similar ponies but not the very same, and you may need to try and specify with the seller that the pony in the image is the one you want exactly. There may be trouble in communicating if they don't speak English, and I would recommend you use a photo with the pony you want. I'd say Aliexpress can be a bit of a gamble. If you do end up getting different results from the picture, I'd talk to the seller about the discrepancy between the images and the resulting package, but I can't say whether you'll be successful in getting the right ponies sent to you. A lot of the time the image is a sample image, where the seller does have those specific ponies, but also has many others and will send random ones unless you specify.

I see a lot of Lanard Catwalk Kitty/Monster High hybrids on Ali, but I've never seen a pony on there I was interested in. I might just be using the wrong terms. If you do order something, I'd love to see! It might be worth taking the risk, some things are SOOO cheap it's a little like gambling- which can be fun!

I know Taobao isn't Aliexpress, but maybe you can find the same figures there? Or try a similar technique? Found someone explaining how they use a third party company to help get items from taobao (in this case a concerned pony figure), here is the thread: mlparena.com/index.php/topic,391748.45.html And I'll just repost what LadyMoondancer stated here: "I use a 'Taobao agent', which is essentially a company that will buy goods from Taobao, have them shipped to a warehouse in China, and then ships items to me in the US. They speak English, which is a real blessing. Plus a lot of Taobao sellers won't ship internationally, so the Chinese intermediary is necessary. The one I use is BaseTao.net , although I know there are others. They take a 5% cut of the cost of the items I buy as well as the shipping price. For Chinese text on Taobao, I use Google Translate. Haven't tried the Taobao app. You are not guaranteed to get all four different sets if you buy four items . . . That is exactly what I tried and I ended up getting two of the sets with pink "Kind of Concerned Pony" (with Rarity's eyes), one Concerned Pony set (with the purple and yellow ones), and one "I GOT CRAAAAZY EYES" set. Meaning they left out the "happy unicorns" set. I mean, I wasn't after that set so I was fine with that. But yeah. However you can ask BaseTao to ask the seller to send you a particular set. That's what I did when I ordered a second time. (I ordered two more sets so I could have Concerned Ponies to use for giveaways for my blog.) Essentially I sent BaseTao a picture of the purple / yellow Concerned Pony set and said, "I want these ones; please tell the seller." " Hope that helps!
