Survived what?
My college induction day. And boy was it a crazy day. XD
Let's see first I had to get a new ID printed, and yet again I ended up with what could be described as a mugshot from a police lineup (I think that ID's like passports for some reason have to end up not looking like you at all)
Then we had the scary moment where we found out who we'd be stuck with for the next two years. About ten of us had come back from the last year and somehow they decided to pretty much lump all of us together, but oh my my heart was going crazy when they were reading out names as I was thinking 'pleeease don't split us up!'
The rest of the day would have been more interesting watching paint dry. We sat around filling out various dumb forms and going through paperwork. I've gone through this stuff several times already so I nearly fell asleep after going through about 20 talks about the college and of course we had the 'all important campus tour' which isn't worth it as it's impossible to get lost on campus
During breaktime I nearly lost my friends. We went to the vending machines near the student finance office and I went into there to hand in an EMA form. I came out and couldn't find them so I spent ages looking around the main bit of 'the street' (which is the main building of the college that has all the in college shops) and then found them outside the office, somehow I'd missed them. o.0
We had to sit through the 'Principal's Talk' which was extremley boring and pointless. And then we found out we had to be dragged off to do a 'Functional Skills evaluation' which was sitting at a computer doing a stupid computerized test on math and english, suprisingly I did better on my math one than I thought I would even thought I skipped tonnes of questions. (me and math= Noooo!)
Oh yeah and we found out something a bit annoying. Everyone thought we'd just come in today and then have the rest of the week off and start next week (which was what the letter seemed to state) but we have to turn up tomorrow to do a stupid induction qualification on alchohol awarness. Which bascially means i'm going to be bored out of my skull tomorrow, and somehow they're going to drag it out over an entire day. D: Heeeeeelp me!
We have a rather crazy timetable, we're only in three days but we have two days off in the middle, two days we're in til 6 one day we start at 10.45 hopefully this does work out, but I bet the timetable will be switched around about 20 times before the year is out.
But at least I'm still partnered with my friends this year around. And we don't have to go and do external work experience, it's being claimed off the animal handling lessons.
Oh yeah, and of course I had to have a run in with idiots. On my backpack I have a few soft toy keyrings (two horses, Stitch and a Husky) and there was three dumb little schoolgirls and they were walking behind us (me and my friend) one of them thought it was really funny to go 'Durrr! I like your pony!' so I went 'thanks' knowing very well they were probably trying to be all 'hardcore' like stupid 13 year olds are and then she was saying stuff like 'oh it's well sick!'
